There comes a time in your life when you question everything you were raised to believe in when it came to love, the world, Santa clause, and if whether or not there was a “god”. I was raised by two catholic parents and was taught that there was indeed a higher power (god) that contributed to the reason of our everyday existence. I was raised to believe that if you don’t follow the catholic faith then you’re committing a ...view middle of the document...
Although it took me time I now realize that there is indeed a god.
I believe that there is a god because of many reason but mainly because as I was trying to find the reasons why I should believe that there is a higher power I found that there isn’t a justified answer that can prove his existence, all you really have is faith. I believe in god because I felt like everything that happened in my life was god’s plan. When I was confused about whether or not god existed, I could remember a time when I was about 10 yrs. old. My grandma held a bible study in my living room with her fellow church community. I took a seat next to her while she read excerpts of the bible and I started to get so confused. I started to ask her questions about the bible, Jesus, the 12 disciples, and who was god himself. She went on to explain to me about Jesus and even allowed me to read a passage from the bible, but even she couldn’t answer my question on who was god himself. Instead she told me that when believing in god, you have to be thankful because for everything good that happens in my life is because of him.
It may seem like conventional wisdom to just believe in something that was passed down to me but my reasons of believing in god is mostly because of my family. I was taught to believe in god, and then I stared to teach myself on why I know there is a god.
