REVIEW OF RELATED SYSTEMS
This chapter presents the gathered existing systems that are relevant to the development of Barangay Information System. It includes the related system and the technical background of the system.
Related System
Barangay West Alangilan Information System a study focused on the improvement of the system employed in the barangay. The system was designed to provide an organized information system that store, keep record and to implement the development of technology by making the system used in touch screen devices. NET (VB.NET) is a version of Microsoft’s Visual Basic that was designed, as part of the company’s.NET product group, to make Web service applications easier to develop. According to Microsoft, VB.NET was reengineered, rather than released as VB 6.0 with added features, to facilitate making fundamental changes to the language.
The proponents decided to use vb.net as a programming language that will use in developing the system, because they have an idea on how the visual basic works. And they also have a background study in the visual basic 6.0 that almost same with the interfaces of the visual basic.net. And the interface of this programming language is user friendly.
Microsoft SQL Server is an application used to create computer databases for the Microsoft Windows family of server operating systems. Microsoft SQL Server provides an environment used to generate databases that can be accessed from workstations, the Internet, or other media such as a personal digital assistant (PDA).
This will serve as the database of the system. In creating a database there’s a lot of databases that can be employ, but the proponents decided to use MS SQL Server because this is the most commonly use by many system developers and the researcher is more familiar on it.
