Business Model and Strategic Plan

JM Family Enterprises, Inc. (JMFE) is a privately owned family company of founder James Moran. JMFE is a holding company, which encompasses about a dozen automotive related businesses. These holdings range from the largest volume Lexus retailer to Southeast Toyota distributors, which are built up of about 175 dealerships across the Southeast. JMFE also offers financial services, insurance, inspections, dealer IT products, and marketing services (Hoovers, 2014).

They will pull the credit report and right away make a snap judgment because of a score. This will cause them to either turn down the customer or offer a deal at an extremely high interest rate, which will price the car right out of their budget. During a booming economy when seemingly everyone is working and buying a new car every year, discretion is understandable. In todays struggling economy, is it wise to just start approving everyone and lower the standards just to get a car off the lot? The general consensus would say no and most likely elaborate on what got the United States in this situation. How can the JM family set themselves apart by helping those individuals badly bruised by the recession, while at the same time making smart decisions to ensure the financial future of the company is not compromised.
The United States economy, though still fragile, is getting better. The unemployment rate is down and people are back to work. The aftermath is still apparent, but by creating a program for many of those consumers hit by the affects of the recession, JMFE can play a part in the recovery. By offering an interest rate that will decrease quarterly or bi-annually, JM will be helping these people get into reliable transportation. JM will look past the actual score and take a deeper look into a customer’s history. The information is provided to review it all and not just look at the score. The full report is a road map of the financial history of a person. By really looking into the history of a potential customer, you can make distinction between someone who just doesn’t pay their bills and someone that happen to experience hardship. This program will not only allow JM to help others, but will also help sell more cars.
