Chan Wenling, Low Fun Lin, Lee Li Bing, and Lim Tzyy Ying which consists of have altogether gained much knowledge, uncountable benefits, as well as vast experience that undoubtedly cannot be attained by solely conforming to the teaching in class. Apart from that, five of us would like to express our gratitude to those who helped us to complete this report. First, we would to thank our tutor, Mr. S. Saabdev Kumar. Mr. S. Saabdev Kumar helped us a lot when doing the report. Besides, we also want to thank Ms. Chooi Hooi Sian and Mr. S. Saabdev Kumar to help us complete the survey forms. Mr. S. The purpose of doing this report is to understand more about business ethics and to ascertain the reason of why more of the people are being unethical in carrying out their business. E.g.: The factory adds in harmful chemical ingredient into their product to make it stay longer or look nicer.
The main reason is to maximize their profits either themselves or for the company. They want to gain more and more money even though it is an unethical business. E.g: The factory add in harmful chemical ingredient into their product to make it stay longer or look nicer.
Furthermore, it is common being on officer of the company. They need to follow the direction of their superior. Even the directions might be illegal or unethical, as someone who is being paid by the company. They do not have much choice but have to do what they are directed to do or otherwise it would be hard for them stand long in their position. Plus, due to the economy down town now, it’s hard to look for another job. Thus to hold on with the current job it’s impossible to keep ‘ethics’ in priority of their work.
Besides this, abuse of power is also one of the reasons that will causes people to go through unethical business. They may be uses their power in the society or politic to carry out illegal or unethical business. E.g: a minister may bribery the police authority to allow him or her to carry out illegal or unethical business activities.
On the other hand, some people may do unethical business due to they want more peoples recognize them and increase their status in the society from those cases. They want to be famous in the business areas.
Benefits are also the factor that will causes unethical business in the society. People want to gain various benefits from unethical business. E.g.: save the costs of production to make others investment,...
