The world is becoming smaller thanks to communication technological products. It is playing an increasingly important role in modern society and governs most of the commercial world. Communication technology has really brought a new era to human life and will be the strongest in influence of the future. Through Facebook, people will be able to study or learn about each one of us, discuss or talk about concern or issues, and defy each other (Hodge, 2009). Since Facebook is popular with the younger generation due to its similar interests and habits, it is also helpful way for connecting student organizations and ideas. Organizations can post on their walls updates regarding upcoming events and gatherings. Even though there is an increase in the accessibility of online communities like Facebook, there are supporters who still insist that the service offer more alternatives in terms of communication modes therefore allowing announcements of different capabilities and functions which will remain dominant (DavinciRed, 2009).
Economy
Facebook's influence is continuously succeeding overtime. It helps companies to do tasks more efficiently, specifically in marketing and introducing the new product. Online communities make it a more cordial site to let the economy flourish. Through the system, many companies can advertise their products and in return for the space provided by the site, the advertisers pay a certain amount of money enabling the site to raise revenue. Most of the advertisements posted are aimed for the majority of Facebook's population which is mainly students and young generation of all kinds (Hodge, 2009). These companies also create their own pages for people to join in, to discuss about their current or upcoming product. They can easily exchange information, services and materials with their customers. Facebook is actually a potential market place for those companies that want to expand their market because most of the world’s population can be found in here.
Disadvantages
Here are some of Facebook's disadvantages when it comes to time management and security.
Wasting time
Facebook provides a forum for people to share information about themselves around the clock, and having that captive audience can be quite addicting. Once you get started you will find yourself checking it every day if not more.
