Building A Website Essay

631 words - 3 pages

Describe a work-related situation you feel could be improved. For example, you want to streamline the process for reimbursing employees, or you want to create a high-tech Web site for your small business but have no experience in programming or graphic creation. Be sure to include the project management process when developing your findings. Once you have determined your project, consider the following: Identify the needs of the situation? What is the project objective? What assumptions, if any, should be made regarding the project to be undertaken? Who are the main people or departments that need to be involved in this project? What are the risks involved? Why would your project be considered a project?

In this paper I am going to describe a work-related situation that I feel could be improved. ...view middle of the document...

The first step in the initiating process is to identify the project purpose. The purpose of creating a web site is to increase our potential market. With a web site we can advertise our product to a wider market. The reason I want my company to have a web page would be so we get more business in the future.
There are lots of things to consider when making a website. The first one would be who am I going to have make the website. I am going to recruit myself and one of my other team mates that I work with. I believe this is not a one person job, but at the same time it is dos not take more than two people to create a website. This is considered a project because it takes time and planning to accomplish this. This project is going to take some time to complete. One reason this is because I have no training in website creation, so I have to do research and figure out what I am going first. After I figure out what I am doing I then have to train the person who is helping me.
The first couple of days we would be starting on the background and images of the website. Next we will add all of the text and hyperlinks. We then need to create a Facebook page and a twitter page. This way we have more ways of advertising to a younger market! We will then create our contact pages and blog pages for our customers. That’s not all we have to do. We also have to add other information pages about our company and why they should choose us. The last step in creating our website would be to create our own domain page so people could find us.
There are many risks in doing all of this. One of those risks would be the cost every month to pay for own domain name. Another risk about creating a website would be loosing all of our data from hackers. Since we do not know exactly what we are doing there could be a dysfunctional part on our website. That would not be good at all. The highest risk is the ability to complete the project.
