Imagine if you were a famous singer and musician now imagine your at a huge concert in Madison square garden and you are on stage performing one of your most famous songs. Then all of sudden you pass out wake up in the hospital and find out you have cancer in you lungs, liver and feet also mild brain tumors witch caused him to black out. This happened to bob Marley after that night his whole life changed in a instant. Instead of falling apart and cutting his life short he decided to fight trough it and show how real peace and love is accomplished this is what he was trying to tell the world his whole life through his music. Even if you’re left with nothing you can still make a difference.
I wanted to pick bob Marley because I really ...view middle of the document...
Marley’s wife manager and bob where ambushed and shot several times the next day he got up on stage and said to the crowd “if evil doesn’t take a day off why should I” with 3 gun shot wounds!
He was at the top of the music charts before he got diagnosed with cancer and “still he wasn’t running out of steam he was gaining.” Through out his career he had made a religion change, the rastafari was a Jamaica cult uprising in the 1930’s it was a mystical judo Christian faith that believed in folk wisdom and worldview. Strong sacramental herb they believed brought them in to a deeper view of life and knowledge of them self was marijuana or as they called it ganja. Bob converted to this faith in the late 1960’s. When he returned from the U.S.A which he did not enjoy the fast past life of there culture. This helped Marley find a new depth to his music from all views and every aspect this change in Marley’s life would change music and characterize reggae music forever. This was a break through on Marleys songwriting whole career. From now on this extent of his singing and understanding could get him almost anywhere.
Marley had to fight through weeks of rehab and lived for 8 months longer then his expected 3 weeks. Since he knew he was going to die they desisted to finish the tour. Some times on the road his wife said he would be so drained and almost lifeless he would cry out and tell god just take him already. He must have known he was singing his epitaph. You see the pin drawing his face; you hear the yearning , the resignation and strain of love in his voice everyone wanted to say don’t cry. Keep singing.
But nobody had to tell him he did it his whole life , up to the last note.
Even through I learned some bad things he did in his life my perseption of bob Marley could not be more
