SAARC Drug Offences Monitoring Desk (SDOMD)
The SAARC Drug Offences Monitoring Desk (SDOMD) was established in Colombo in 1992.
The objectives of the Desk are to collate, analyze and disseminate information on drug related offences in the region.
The Workshop on Strengthening the SAARC Drug Offences Monitoring Desk (SDOMD) was held in New Delhi on 23 February 2007.
The Meeting discussed at length the matters relating to strengthening SDOMD and made recommendations for further strengthening of SDOMD.

Further the Governments of Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka offered training courses/programs for the Member States in relevant and important fields related to narcotics and drugs. Realizing the importance of learning from each others experience, the Member States agreed to submit Country Reports on Drug Situations in their respective countries to the SDOMD and also to share information on a real time or near real time basis.
The Fourth Meeting of the Focal Points of SAARC Drug Offences Monitoring Desk (SDOMD) was held in Colombo on 4 April 2011. At this Meeting, the Member States considered the functioning of SDOMD at length and a number of Member States provided relevant inputs with regard to implementation of decisions taken at the Third Meeting of the Focal Points of SDOMD (Islamabad, 23 June 2010). In consideration of measures to further improve the functioning of SDOMD, the Member States were urged to share information on detection of major drug detentions on real time/near real time basis as well as best practices for drug abuse prevention, drug demand reduction and drug supply strategies.
