Crisis Contingency Plan
Baderman Island Resort has contingency plans designed specifically to mitigate certain crisis situations in order to protect our employees, guests, facilities and all other assets. “An organizational crisis is a low-probability, high-impact event that threatens the viability of the organization and is characterized by ambiguity of cause, effect, and means of resolution, as well as by a belief that decisions must be made swiftly” (Breaux, D. & Premeaux, S., 2007)). In the unfortunate event that a hurricane advances at a rate that makes evacuation unfeasible, the incident commander will inform the authorities and necessary people at corporate headquarters so that rescue efforts can be launched immediately after storm passes, the response team will usher all personnel to approved storm shelters housed to sustain category 5 hurricanes and equipped to support survivors for 3 weeks if outside rescue is required.
Recovery. Once storm has passed the damage assessment begins, if clean-up is minimal resort staff may be used in cleanup effort in order to maintain employment. In extreme cases where professionals are needed for recovery, every effort will be used to temporarily employ resort employees at other Boardman Management properties.
Workplace Violence Contingency Plan
Workplace violence is a situation that every employer hopes never to have to contend with but if in the unfortunate event that it should happen, this plan should be the guidelines for response. Baderman believes that step one is prevention and that prevention is based in identification so to that end requires all employees attend the Dealing with Difficult Customers course offered by the Boardman Corporate University.
