Video 1 - Discrimination in the workplace
Discrimination is the prejudicial or distinguishing treatment of an individual based on their actual or perceived membership in certain group or category. It occurs when the victim is treated in a way that is worse than the way people usually are treated. It is sometime caused by the reason such as race, age, sex or other issues. For example, there is a pregnant woman in the company and the boss wanted to fire her because of her pregnancy. This may consider as an act of discrimination to the woman rights. On the other hand, discrimination in the workplace is the incident that occurs among workers in the working environment.

Thus, the ability of an employee is examined through their performance but not their races. People in different race don’t mean that they could not perform well or provide great ideas in the working process. Furthermore, when your employee is pouring a cup of coffee for you, you should appreciate it because this is not his job scope and he still willing to do so. Besides that, there is a situation where the manager only agrees on the ideas from the same races. This very impolite way of communicating because she directly ignores what the African employee says and only paying attention to the employee beside her.
The moral value that we can see in this video is the racism discrimination. It shows the disrespect attitude of manager to the employees in different races. In this case, the main reason that causes this issue is the aspect of people to their races. Different people in different races will have different point of view to this problem. Some of them think that it is normal but some of them will not agree her action. But, in the aspect of business ethic, racist will never be the correct thing to in in their working environment. Although they have rights to hate other races in their life, as a professional manager, they should treat everyone the same in their workplace. If incident like this continues in the company, there will be severe loss of potential employee since most of the foreign workers are all willing to complement their best to their company. At the same time, it may also cause argument or fight during the working period. In order to solve this problem, top managers should have a talk to their supervisors to control their emotions and disrespect act to the workers in different races. Give them proper advices and tell them the facts that only examine an employee by their performance and ability but not their races.
In conclusion, we should treat everyone the same and not to look down on others because of their skin tone. Everyone have the rights to do what they like.
