U.S. indicts hackers in biggest Cyber fraud case in history
Prosecutors have charged five men from the Ukraine and Russia for hacking and Credit Card Fraud, the charges reference the indictment against Albert Gonzalez, the TJX Hacker, who stole millions of credit and debit card information and is currently serving 20 years in prison. Each of the five men had specific tasks they were to accomplish in the theft ring. The five men accused of the theft are estimated to have help steal over 160 million credit card numbers and were able to hide the activity with anonymous web hosting and by disabling anti-virus software of the target computers. “The five hid their efforts by disabling anti-virus software of their victims and storing data on multiple hacking platforms the prosecutors said” (Jones, 2013). This type of computer crime is the cutting edge of computer application, it seems un-limitless and how do you stop it? There seems to be no answer at this time.
