“Today man knows the price of everything and the value of nothing” (Wild, Oscar). This phrase reflects very well why this incentive pay fail as a sole incentive system, rather than achieve its objective, it generates demotivation among workers, it is true that money is an important motivator in exchange of some extra effort, but money does not buy all the needs. So in order to avoid this, it is important to set other incentives, for our worker to feel part of the company and thus we can retain satisfied employees while achieving desired business results.

So what actions should managers take to increase the employees’ motivation and also that can fulfill the four emotional needs before mentioned?
First you will want to have a Reward system for example you can publicly recognize the accomplishments of our employee such as the well-known “employee of the month”. Make assessment to all workers and give feedback, highlighting what has been done well and suggest the way they should improve. Also you can generate flexible hours to increase motivation.
For the second drive, bond, you can promote a culture of value collaboration and teamwork, as well encourage mutual reliance and friendship among coworkers by organizing events such as dinners, conventions, etc. Those are a good places to create identity and belonging with coworkers. In addition you can give them greet personally birthdays or important dates.
Since the third need is related to satisfying the curiosity you can design jobs that are meaningful and foster a sense of contribution to the organization, also as Google does with their employees give or devote time for your employees to develop new ideas.
Then for the last drive, you will want to build trust by being just and transparent in granting rewards, assignments and others forms of recognition, as well, when the company has obtained a significant achievement, talk to everyone with an email and in team meetings.
It should be noted that to achieve this we must be clear about the mission statement and goals of our company since seeking incentives or motivations, engage the interests of people with goals of the company, so balancing these aspects is central.
