AGENTS OF SOCIALIZATION

Agents of socialization can also be defined as those people or groups within our social environment that affects or influence the orientation of an individual’s attitude, behaviour, emotion and self orientation either positively or negatively. They affect us directly or indirectly socially, mentally, emotionally and even on our self development. These groups are responsible for making and shaping our entire life in the society.

TYPES OF AGENTS OF SOCIALIZATION

They are mainly five agents of socialization in the society which affects us on a daily basis, these agents of socialization are;

For example in UAE the wealth or social status of a family can be inherited by the sons and daughter, to all extend the individual is a representative of the family. Without the family, we will be inadequately socialized in the society, which is why feral and isolated children find it difficult no matter what to live with normal human beings, because right from the beginning there was inadequate family support, influence, and interaction in general.

THE RELIGION:
I believe the religion is the second agent of socialization after the family; the religion is an organizational with collection of beliefs, cultural structure, and view of the world in general.
In UAE the most common and major religion is Islam, more than 95% of the population of the UAE are Muslims. Their beliefs, behaviours, attitudes and self orientation are common in the religious society. The religion has different symbols, histories, and narratives that are intended to define the general meaning of life.
In everyday’s activity, the religion has one way or the other to influence and affect every aspect of life.
The religion provides a standard of behaviour, value, love for others, meaning of life, and also guide for what to do and what not to do, for example in the UAE the religion has affected the general dressing culture of the residence which states that men are expected to dress responsibly while women should cover their body parts, with this even little children grow up to adapt the culture of the religion, by dressing the way the religion has expected them to do, and if by any chance, a person does otherwise he will be punished also according to the religion.

THE SCHOOL:
An organisation or institution for the purpose of teaching students (or pupils) under the supervision and instructions of a teacher or lecturer is a school. A school can also be defined as the teaching of a particular skill or field of profession by an institution in other to fit an individual into the society.
In the UAE, there are basically three stages of school an educated member of the society is expected to pass through, this schools are; the Nursery/primary school, High school (secondary school) and the higher institution (University or college). These schools are responsible for influencing and making the future of an individual to fit into the society, by teaching knowledge and skills of writing, reading and general arithmetic. The school is certainly a part of socialization because at home, we learn behaviours, values, and family culture; while in school we learn a wilder prospective that prepares us to become people, individually outside the family structure but society in general.
The school has opened the door to a new social world for it has provided importance that
Society has placed on gender and race, it has also provided information and knowledge on how to socialize with people outside the family environment, how to talk to them, how to follow and obey laws and regulations. ...
