Furthermore, globalization is causing big impact on economy rather than on the political forces, demographic force, socio-cultural forces, technological force, economic force or global forces. Then, the areas we are focus are on the macroeconomic that consist of inflation, business cycle, inflation and economic growth. Our case study shows the problem, impact and solution to the problem for each factor in macroeconomic.

i) Business Cycle

“ A recession is when your neighbor loses his or her job, and a depression is when you also lose your job”

The statement above clearly grasps the overall idea on this chapter in term of business cycle. As a central concern of macroeconomics, business cycle does include the up and down of economics based on three yardstick; leading indicators, coincidental indicator and lagging indicator.[1] In definition, according to Sargeant (1979 : 256 ), business cycle is the phenomenon of a number of important economic aggregates; GDP, unemployment and inflation, that are being characterized by high pair wise covariance at the low business cycle frequencies ( two-to-eight-year range).[2] Next, how does the globalization related to the business cycle, one of the macroeconomic key indicators ? Do management and organizational linked with them ? As explained before, globalization deals with the integration and connection of politic, economic and social systems around the globe.[3] Clearly in this context, there is no such barrier across the nations around the globe, cultural, geographical region or else. Thus, this chapter enlightens you on the challenges that organizations facing today on globalization in term of economics, next the impact of the globalization to the business cycle and how the organizations come in front with solutions in confronting the challenges in the global marketplace. 1870 to 1914 is the historical period when globalization slowly groom during the Pre-World War 1.[4] Before, nations are facing with trade barriers, restriction on fund flows, nations practice the closed market and so on. Coming to solve the problem, globalization crossed the trade barriers and nations, free to import and export to the other countries. Instead of it, the more practical nontrade barrier started when several regions tend to develop the region free trade area; ASEAN Free Trade Area ( AFTA ), North America Free Trade Area ( NAFTA ) and so on.
