300 Film Review

726 words - 3 pages

300… If you’ve seen the film, you would know that I could leave this review at that and you’d know exactly what I mean. There would be no need for any other description because this film is undeniably the film that tops all the films of the past, all the films of the present and will top all the films of the future. 300 is the only word to describe it, in fact, and I’m telling the truth, a few friends and I went to see the film and when it finished all of us were speechless, we sat there doing nothing but staring at the cinema screen for at least another 5-10 minutes just looking at the casting, listening to the music and thinking of the film that physically petrified us into trance.Even the trailer of just 2 minutes and 6 seconds shows you that the movie would be full of absolutely amazing action appearances that would kick unholy amounts of ...view middle of the document...

Seriously, you'll think about comparing them to scenes from Lord of the Rings or Gladiator, but you'd be wrong. Oh my, you will be wrong. The visuals themselves are jaw dropping, even when not involving bloodshed or carnage, are a sight to behold. 300 was made with the best visual or sound effects ever to be seen on any film of any genre, and it never looked fake at all. The actors do well for their roles, with Gerard Butler as a very convincing heroic leader, even though he doesn't need to keep shouting everything as if it were a grand statement. But you know what? It doesn't matter because I'd follow him into battle any day.Mainly because I know that he could pretty much single-handedly take care of everyone for me. Zach Snyder directs 300 with a sure hand, telling a rock solid true tale of honour and valour and mostly about kicking ass. Looking back upon the film, you start to pick up on some events that are a little harsh and sad like the Spartans discarding imperfect babies, so as to keep their army full of the strongest. This leads one to realize that the Spartans are kind of creating their own superior race making you automatically about the Nazis. And yet, we still portrait them as the goodies. There is a lot one can take away from this film and I think that this film will be near impossible to top. It makes you think as though someone is continuously pumping shots of adrenaline into you. Throughout the two hour gap I sat in my cinema I couldn’t even think about taking my eye of the screen to grab a handful of popcorn. I know that even now I can’t wait to see it again and again and again. 300 is one hell of a film and is one that should be watched across the globe, one that will be watched across the globe.BibliographyMiss Cox - My English teacher
