3-Day Food Intake
This paper will explore my food intake for over a 3- day period. It will talk about what type of macronutrients was included in my 3-day diet. It talks about how it compares to the recommendations of the dietary reference intake. Which foods might I add or remove to achieve my goal and keep other nutrients in balance. In order for a protein to be considered complete it can't miss even one essential amino acid. So what essential means is that our body needs it but can’t produce it so we must receive it through a food source.
Macronutrient intake ranges
Macronutrients are important because without them our bodies would not be able to function properly. This in turn will cause us to have health problems. Same goes for too much or too little of any one of these macronutrients. Eating too few carbohydrates will cause ketosis, fatigue, and constipation. Consuming to little protein will begin to become flabby where you use to have muscle, your muscle won’t be able to heal if injured, and your hair may start to fall out. Lastly, if you aren’t getting enough lipids you may become hungry often, have dry skin, and for women we can end up losing our menstrual cycle. Now all of this may seem harmless but this is just the beginning of what could happen. Not getting enough macronutrients can cause serious health issue that no one wants to have to deal with.
Fiber intake ranges
My fiber intake was at or 1% over the recommendation for me, as calculated at iProfile. I was short on fruit. I need to incorporate more fruit into my diet and whole wheat items.
