NEW WORLD DEBUTANTE

 
The Avro C-102 Jetliner turns for final approach over Manhattan on the first flight of a jet passenger aircraft in the United States, 18 April, 1950.This edition has been signed by all living persons who were on board the Jetliner that day including Avro Chief Test Pilot Don Rogers (pilot), Avro Assistant Chief Test Pilot and Orenda Engines Chief Test Pilot Mike Cooper Slipper, C-102 Flight Engineer Bill Baker, Chief Design Engineer Jim Floyd (later V.P. and Director Eng.); Chief of Flight Test (and contributing designer to the C-102) Mario Pesando. As of the Summer of 2003, all signers will have been inducted into Canada’s aviation hall of fame.

Thunder Before the Storm

(Avro CF-105 Arrow Mk. l)This is the painting that started it all! Through touring with the original print series of this painting the artist met so many from Avro that he wrote Avro Aircraft & Cold War Aviation whereby he created the other images on this page to illustrate and provide the cover for this book. This is a new, smaller, edition published subsequent to the sell-out of the original series.

This print is not matted, however it is signed by Arrow pilot Peter Cope, before his death.
